Peter Deadman

Peter Deadman has worked in the field of health promotion for fifty years. He co-founded Infinity Foods natural food shop, founded The Journal of Chinese Medicine, co-wrote A Manual of Acupuncture, is the author of Live Well Live Long: Teachings from the Chinese Nourishment of Life Tradition, and has practised and taught acupuncture, lifestyle medicine and qigong internationally for many years. Dr. Jonquil Westwood Pinto

Jonquil has been practising Chinese medicine for 15 years, currently at Brighton and Hove Acupuncture. She is a published food writer and is completing a PhD in acupuncture and health behaviour at Southampton University. She has developed a unique collection of delicious recipes based on traditional Chinese dietary principles which can be made in any kitchen. Tom Kennedy

Tom has been practising Chinese medicine since 2007, and runs a busy acupuncture and Chinese herbal medicine practice in Bristol, UK. He has worked closely with The Journal of Chinese Medicine for many years on a variety of projects, and produced the point location videos for the digital versions of A Manual of Acupuncture. He is co-presenter of the instructional video series Acupressure for Natural Pain Relief in Labour (included in the Jing app) with Debra Betts.

Sarah Pritchard

Sarah has been practising Chinese Medicine since 1994. One of the first westerners to practice Tui na in the UK, Sarah is known as an inspiring teacher and workshop leader who shares her knowledge in an engaging and empowering way. She is the author of Chinese Massage Manual and Tui na - A Manual of Chinese Massage Therapy. Her online course Advanced Tui na for Acupuncturists was launched in March 2020. Sarah teaches continuing education courses live and online for practitioners of Acupuncture, Tui na and Chinese Medicine both in the UK and abroad. She is the founder and Director of Blackheath Complementary Health Centre.

Daverick Leggett

Training in Shiatsu during the 1980’s, Daverick worked as a practitioner for a decade, going on to become a regional director of the European Shiatsu School. In the early 1990′s he became a co-director of the Centre for Oriental Medicine. He is a qualified qigong instructor, and regularly teaches throughout southwest England. He is the author of two books on nutritional healing (Helping Ourselves and Recipes for Self-Healing) and teaches nutrition throughout the UK and Europe. Lisa Sherman

Lisa has been a student and practitioner of various schools of Eastern thought for over 20 years, including as a yoga teacher and acupuncturist. She trained as a meditation teacher with Buddhist Geeks Vince and Emily Horn, and her practice has included sitting retreats in the Thai Forest, Tibetan and vipassana traditions.

Her previous lives in the UK included working as a molecular biologist and web designer, and she currently practises acupuncture and functional medicine in the mountains of Asheville, North Carolina. She is passionate about the evolutionary potential of human consciousness, and enjoys exploring how best to live well in 'interesting' times.

Debra Betts

‘Acupressure’ section contributor

Debra graduated from the London College of Acupuncture in 1989, and has a background in nursing. She developed a specific interest in treating pregnancy and began teaching acupressure and acupuncture to midwives in 1997. She is the author of The Essential Guide to Acupuncture in Pregnancy & Childbirth, and completed her PhD on the use of acupuncture in threatened miscarriage in 2014 through the University of Western Sydney. There are many free resources on her website.
